May Tournament Results from Head Coach Patrick Curtis Apisah

2012 Medibank Age Championship at Homebush April 23-27

• There was a total of 59 entries for the 12 girls events. This was a gold series tournament.
• Our results were
• Violet Apisah reached the quarter finals going down to Stephanie Belovukovic 6/3, 4/6, 4/6. She finished 5th overall in the main draw after beating Gabriella Da Silva Fick 6/2, 1/6, 10/8 in the play-offs.
• Natasha Fragros won the 12 girls consolation 6/0, 5/7, 10/5 beating Zoe Tanti.
• Violet & Natasha made the semi finals of the 12 girls doubles going down 1/6, 4/6 to number 1 seeds Maria Vais & Nicolina Voulgaris.
• Patricia Apisah & Jenna Kaplan made the quarter finals of the 12 girls doubles.

• The Mackillop team of Violet Apisah, Natasha Fragros, Patricia Apisah were runner up in the PSSA State schools final held in Canberra from the 1/4 to the 4/4.
• Shalisse Thompson was in the Sydney East team which finished 4th.
• There were a total of 14 teams both boys and girls from all round the state. The Mackillop team came 1st overall with boys and girls team in the finals to win the Don Moon trophy.
• Violet Apisah & Natasha Fragros have both been selected to represent NSW in the 2012 state teams challenge in Perth in October playing against teams from the other states.

• On the first of May 2012 Violet, Patricia, and I, Shalisse went to the New South Wales Public Schools SA State Teams Tournament in Canberra in the ACT which is held each year.
• Violet and Patricia’s team was called Maciollop and my team was called Sydney East we all did great. This was my first time in the tournament and the second year Violet and Patricia played in this tournament. We did our best, we sweated for success and we all played many great and powerful shots throughout the week.

Nepean Open Easter Junior Championships April 6-9

• Silver series tournament, 12 & under girls events
• Violet Curtis Apisah was a finalist in the singles going down to Kaitlin Staines 7/5,6/1
• Patricia Curtis Apisah & Valentina Ivanov were finalists in the doubles going down 3/6, 6/3,10-7 against Kaitlin Staines & Nicola Voulgaris
• Natasha Fragos made the semi finals losing to Violet 6/0, 5/7, 6/3

Violet & Patrick at Penrith

• Silver series tournament, 12 & under girls events
• Violet Apisah won the 12 girls final 4/6,6/3,6/4 against Natasha Fragros
• Violet Apisah & Natasha Fragros won the girls doubles final 6/3,6/4 against Valentina Ivanov &  Katierae Fing

2012 Forster ANZ Silver Junior Open April 14-17

• Silver series tournament, 12 & under girls events
• Natasha Fragros won the 12 girls singles final 6/1,6/3 against Zoe Tanti

2012 Hills Easter Junior Open April 14-17

• Silver series tournament, 12 & under girls events
• Violet & Patricia Apisah reached the 12 girls finals but due to rain the event was cancelled on Tuessday 17th

Tennis Blasts's Don McIndoe is now ranked no. 1 in ITF world rankings in mixed doubles for the 65 & over age group.

• Tennis Blast's Don McIndoe, (aged 68), is no. 1 in the World for Mixed Doubles with partner Carol Campling. in the International Tennis Federation world rankings for the 65 & over age group. (see ITF rankings)
• Don & Carol have won an Australian senior mixed doubles title a record 14 times. They won the Australian Mixed Doubles for the 65 & over age group in Perth on January 20th.
